Video and Phone Consultations
In addition to our in-person support sessions, we also offer virtual one to one consultations by video or phone to families living and/or accessing health care in Oxfordshire. This service is now primarily for service users who would find it hard to attend an in-person session if they have:
- no local OBS in-person session (nearest session greater than a 30-minute journey time)
- no transport (public or private)
- accompanying toddlers/pre-schoolers, making it difficult to attend in person
- health or other condition that would make it challenging to attend in person
Our in-person support sessions remain wheelchair accessible and everyone is welcome to book to attend.
If you are worried about your baby or yourself, please contact your midwifery or health visiting team, or NHS 111 (999 if it's an emergency). GPs and hospitals are also there to support you. Please don't delay contacting them if you are worried. Your midwife or health visitor can provide feeding support as part of your care and you can ask for additional visits or contacts for help with feeding.
Booking
You can can choose to see a particular facilitator, or select "Any practitioner" to book the next available appointment. Slots are normally available to book once week in advance, so if you don't see any available slots please check back later.
We use the telehealth software integrated with the Cliniko booking system. You don’t need to download anything: just click on the video link in your confirmation email at the time of your appointment. Please note you will only be able to join from one device at a time.
Please only book one appointment at a time. You can easily cancel or change your appointment. Our facilitator will make a follow-up plan with you, if needed.

Language & Interpretation
Language Line language interpretation services are available, including for British Sign Language. Please use the "Extra info/Comments" box when booking, or reply to your booking confirmation indicating what kind of help you may need during your consultation and we will arrange this for you.
You may find it helpful to download the free Otter Voice Meeting Notes app or other transcription apps that will listen to your consultation and transcribe your conversation in real time, as well as saving it to look back over later.
