Meet Our Team - OBS Volunteers

Peer Supporter Volunteers Tineke, Pat and Sam at one of our pre-pandemic sessions

If you attend any of our in person sessions, you will probably be welcomed by someone with a blue apron and a friendly smile. Our volunteers are also a huge help during our monthly virtual group sessions, antenatal education sessions, and on our Facebook group.

Volunteers, team members and a trustee meeting on Zoom to discuss how the reopened in person sessions were working in October 2021

We're very lucky to have had some of our volunteers working with us for many years who can help us remember what things were like before the pandemic. If anything the pandemic has made the team stronger, with many ideas for new and modified services coming from our wonderful volunteers. Thank you to all. We couldn't do what we do without you!

Volunteers Caroline and Cathy (with the blue aprons) with facilitator Julie when our in person session at Donnington Doorstep reopened in July 2021. Cathy is now an accredited breastfeeding counsellor and facilitates some of our sessions.

The majority of our volunteers are Peer Supporters, who are local mothers who want to give their time to help other families, but we also have some general volunteers. Some of our volunteers have gone on to further their education in breastfeeding support and are now accredited breastfeeding counsellors.

Please see out Volunteer with us page if you are interested in joining our team.
